From the DBS site based file we are able to identify some 625,000 sole traders by their business activity, trading address and name, to which have been attached a telephone number and contact name. Uniquely, to ensure maximum coverage, the file undergoes desk and tele-research in order that we may identify and datacapture those sole traders not listed as having a business telephone line.

Maintenance
To ensure the quality of the data it is subjected to the following processes and procedures. • Phone-check - All records on the DBS site based file are verified by running the file against Phone-check. • Goneaways - All goneaways are refunded in full, datacaptured and suppressed from the mailing file. • Autodial - All records are run through autodial to identify any dead lines. All dead lines are then checked back against Phone-check to identify whether they have moved or ceased trading. • Telemarketing - To fulfil specific requirements a broad range of data is also telemarketed on an ongoing basis. • Desk research - This includes the suppression of companies that have been listed as no longer trading.
